NOMAD Transportable Power Systems Partners with Octillion to Integrate LFP Battery Technology

March 3, 20265 min readBy NOMAD Power Team

WATERBURY, VT [March 3, 2026] – NOMAD Transportable Power Systems announces the integration of Octillion Power Systems ("Octillion") Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery systems into the Voyager mobile energy storage fleet. This technology update applies to Voyager Eagle, Falcon, and Hawk units. The move creates a strategic alignment between NOMAD's mobile infrastructure and Octillion's proven global electric vehicle (EV) battery engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

Strategic Supply Chain Strength

This integration leverages the manufacturing scale of 2009-established and California-based Octillion, which currently powers over 2.5 million electric vehicles globally, across diverse vehicle classes, and holds over 1,000 patents in battery technology. By utilizing Octillion's established supply chain and engineering resources, NOMAD secures a high-volume, Tier 1 battery partner. Notably, Octillion operates 9 manufacturing facilities, including in Reno, Nevada, and across India and China, respectively. Their global supply chain footprint, especially with an important domestic presence, supports consistent production timelines and long-term reliability for the NOMAD fleet.

Executive Commentary

"Partnering with Octillion marks a significant milestone for our production capabilities. Our customers require mobile power systems that perform flawlessly in the most demanding environments on earth. Integrating Octillion's automotive-grade LFP technology ensures our Voyager fleet delivers the safety, durability, and energy density that the industrial sector demands."

— Chris McKay, Chief Operating Officer at NOMAD

"NOMAD is establishing new boundaries for what mobile energy storage can achieve. We are proud to supply customized high-performance LFP battery systems that can drive their Voyager fleet, both with technical prowess and affordability. Octillion has a long history of engineering purpose-built battery systems that can thrive in the most demanding work environments, and therefore, NOMAD will receive Octillion battery systems that can do exactly what they are intended to — with maximum durability and performance."

— Paul Beach, Global President of Octillion

Technical Specifications and Performance

The Voyager series will now feature Octillion's pack architecture using prismatic LFP cells. This system is engineered specifically for high-capacity applications in demanding operating environments, with extreme structural durability.

  • Capacity: The Voyager Eagle and Falcon units deliver a nameplate energy of 1.8 MWh. This provides industrial-scale power for utilities, emergency response, and large-scale events.
  • Thermal Management: The battery system includes an integrated liquid cooling solution with a dedicated chiller and HVAC system. This allows Voyager units to maintain optimal performance in ambient temperatures ranging from -30°F to 130°F.
  • Operations: The Octillion system supports the Voyager Eagle's 999 kW rated power output and enables the 1.5-hour discharge time at full load.

Safety and Compliance

Safety remains a primary focus for both NOMAD and Octillion. The integrated system utilizes Octillion's proprietary battery management system (BMS) for real-time monitoring of cell health and thermal conditions. This technology supports NOMAD in meeting critical industry safety standards. The battery systems have undergone UL9540A testing. The Voyager units are designed to align with NFPA 855 fire safety codes and UL1973 certifications.
